Who We Are

A national youth leadership organization rooted in naval tradition — building character, discipline, and purpose in young people ages 10–17.

Our Mission

More Than a
Youth Program

The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is a national youth leadership development organization that promotes interest and skill in naval disciplines while building character and life skills.

We operate under Navy League sponsorship with support from the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. Our Cruiser Milwaukee Division has served the greater Milwaukee area since 2002, guided entirely by unpaid adult volunteers who believe in the potential of every young person we serve.

Program Goals

Four Pillars of Development

Naval Discipline

Develop genuine interest and skill in naval disciplines through hands-on, immersive training.

🇺🇸

Citizenship

Instill citizenship virtues, moral principles, and a deep pride in our nation and community.

🏅

Merit & Character

Demonstrate the value of merit-based living — rank and recognition earned, never given.

🧭

Career Paths

Expose cadets to real career opportunities in the Navy, Coast Guard, and beyond through direct training.

Why It Matters

What Cadets Walk Away With

The training is real. So are the results. These aren't participation trophies — they're skills, habits, and credentials that follow cadets for the rest of their lives.

🎯

Leadership & Confidence

Cadets step into leadership roles that most adults have never experienced — commanding teams, executing plans, and owning outcomes.

💪

Discipline & Responsibility

The uniform demands standards. Every cadet learns what it means to be accountable — to their unit, their rank, and themselves.

🧩

Problem-Solving

Real challenges require real thinking. From field operations to emergency response, cadets develop decisive, calm decision-making.

🤝

Teamwork

No cadet succeeds alone. Every evolution builds the trust and coordination that defines great teams — in the Navy and beyond.

🏋️

Physical Fitness

PT is part of the program. Cadets build endurance, strength, and the mental toughness to push past what they thought possible.

🚀

Future Advantage

E-3 advanced entry into the Armed Forces. NROTC scholarship edge. College applications that stand out. The Sea Cadets open doors.

Organizational Structure

National Program,
Local Heart

The Cruiser Milwaukee Division is an official unit of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps — the only Department of Defense-sponsored youth organization in the country.

We are proudly sponsored by the Navy League of the United States — Milwaukee Council, chartered in 1945. The NLUS is a civilian organization with 50,000+ members dedicated to supporting our sea services.

Cadets who reach E-3 rank earn advanced entry into any branch of the Armed Forces — a benefit earned through dedication, not simply membership.
