Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps serves youth ages 10–17. We are aware of our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Our interest form is intended to be completed by a parent or guardian on behalf of a prospective cadet. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
All enrollment data for cadets is handled through the national NSCC system (nscc.org), which has its own privacy practices and parental consent processes.
Data Retention
We retain interest form submissions for the duration of the enrollment process. If a cadet does not enroll, form data is deleted within 12 months. Newsletter subscribers' information is retained until they unsubscribe.
Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
Access to stored form data is limited to authorized division leadership. We use HTTPS to encrypt all data in transit between your browser and our servers.
