SA Kendra Ugoretz
Cybersecurity · Color Guard · Wisconsin Warrior Challenge Level 3 · NLUS Youth Medal with Silver Star. She drives hours for every drill — and arrives fully prepared.
"There's nothing quite like earning a little more freedom while still holding strong to military bearing."
The Commitment
Kendra Ugoretz lives in Shawano, Wisconsin — several hours from Milwaukee. She drives that distance to make every single drill weekend, arriving fully prepared, uniform squared away, ready to work. That kind of commitment before the first drill even starts says everything about who she is.
She joined in May 2023, encouraged by Cadet Guild and supported by her family. She'd developed an interest in military service during middle school and wasn't going to let geography stand in the way.

Cybersecurity & STEM
Ugoretz's pursuit of Cybersecurity Advanced Training reflects a growing interest in technical fields. The Sea Cadets offer access to cutting-edge STEM training that most high school students will never see — and Kendra seized it. She's not just earning ribbons; she's building a skill set for a career.
Beyond the Program
Outside of the Sea Cadets, Kendra works on cars, practices taekwondo, and plays soccer. She's looking toward a future in auto body painting or security — fields where technical precision and composure under pressure are exactly the skills she's building now.
The Cruiser Milwaukee Division recognizes her as a cadet who embodies the program's core values of honor, courage, and commitment — not just in drill, but in everything she does.
Distance Is Not an Excuse
